Binance P2P: How to Buy and Sell Crypto for Hryvnia

A step-by-step guide to Binance P2P for hryvnia: buying, selling, platform rules, fees for UAH and the risks to know before your first deal.

Key points

  • Binance P2P is a marketplace with escrow: you pay the seller directly, and the exchange blocks their cryptocurrency for the duration of the deal.
  • Pay and receive money only from an account in your own name; for hryvnia, the buyer pays the payment provider’s fees.
  • Before releasing cryptocurrency, check the incoming payment in your banking app, not just an SMS or a screenshot.
  • The platform is not a party to the deal, and taxation is the user’s responsibility.

Binance P2P is a marketplace where you buy or sell cryptocurrency for hryvnia directly from another user, while the exchange only holds the cryptocurrency in escrow and handles appeals. The Binance help article on buying by card (updated 9 December 2025) does not list hryvnia among the currencies, so P2P is the method we consider for hryvnia. Below are the steps and rules that Binance publishes on its official pages as of October 2026, plus the risks to know before your first deal.

This material is for information only and is not investment advice.

How It Works

According to the help center, Binance P2P is a peer-to-peer marketplace where you trade cryptocurrency directly with other Binance users. Offers (ads) are created by the users themselves, and some of them are verified P2P merchants with a yellow badge. The P2P introduction page (updated 9 May 2024) states that the platform supports more than 800 payment methods.

The main idea is escrow. When you create an order, the required amount of the seller’s cryptocurrency is automatically reserved on Binance and released to the buyer only after the deal is successfully completed. You pay not the exchange but the seller: by bank transfer directly, or through another payment platform, to the seller’s details. For hryvnia, there are P2P market pages with a filter by payment method, including Monobank (Card). Which payment methods are available today can be seen only on the live ads page.

Important. Under the P2P policy, Binance is not a party to a P2P deal. The platform helps with appeals on request, but the final decision on reconsidering an appeal is made at its own discretion.

What You Need Before You Start

To trade on P2P, you need identity verification, SMS confirmation and at least one two-factor authentication device. To sell cryptocurrency, you must first transfer it to your Funding account in the “Assets” section.

The payment account you receive money into or pay from must be in your name. The user policy expressly states that the platform does not support payment methods where the real name has not been confirmed. If such methods are used, the P2P feature may be suspended for at least 7 days.

How to Choose an Offer

There are many offers, and the best price does not always mean the best deal. Here is what to check according to Binance’s help center and policy:

  • Quantity and limits. Each ad shows the available amount of cryptocurrency and the minimum and maximum deal amount. It must suit you.
  • Seller’s terms. The help center advises reading them before you create an order.
  • Payment method. You must pay using the method specified in the ad. If you need another one, the seller’s consent is required.
  • Merchant badge. A yellow badge marks a verified P2P merchant. It does not remove your obligation to check the payment and the rules yourself.
  • Price. Compare it with other ads and with the market. If you trade USDT, the hryvnia price depends on the market, not on the official National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) rate shown on the USD/UAH page.

Step by Step: How to Buy Cryptocurrency for Hryvnia

According to the guide for the web version, the procedure is as follows.

  1. Log in to the official Binance website, click “Trade” and select “P2P.”
  2. Select a mode. In Express mode, you enter the amount you need, the system picks the best price on the P2P market, and you choose a payment method and confirm the purchase. In P2P mode, you choose the ad yourself.
  3. In P2P mode, click “Buy,” select hryvnia as the currency you pay with, and choose the cryptocurrency. Check the available amount and the limits for each ad.
  4. Choose a seller and read their terms. Enter the amount or quantity and create the order: the platform will block the corresponding amount of the seller’s cryptocurrency.
  5. Pay the seller using their details, from an account in your name. In the order chat, discuss only what relates to the deal.
  6. Only after you have paid, click “Transferred, Notify Seller.” The status will change to “Releasing.”
  7. When the seller confirms receipt, they will release the cryptocurrency. Check your balance.

You can cancel an order with the “Cancel Order” button. According to the help center, if you cancel three orders within a day, the buying function will be suspended for that day. Do not cancel an order after you have paid if the seller has not returned the money, and do not click “Transferred” until you have paid. According to the help center for the web version, you can have no more than two unfinished orders at the same time. If the cryptocurrency is not credited on time, click “Appeal” and contact Binance support.

Step by Step: How to Sell

  1. Transfer the cryptocurrency to your Funding account in the “Assets” section.
  2. Go to P2P, select “Sell,” the cryptocurrency and hryvnia.
  3. Review the buyers’ ads: quantities, limits, payment methods. Choose a buyer.
  4. Enter the sale amount and the payment method. It will be shown to the buyer, so it must be in your name.
  5. Wait for the buyer to pay. Communicate in the order chat.
  6. Before you release the cryptocurrency, make sure the money has really arrived in your account. Open your banking app and check the amount. Binance explicitly advises not to rely only on SMS or emails.
  7. Only then click “Payment Received,” and then “Confirm Release.” The cryptocurrency will be sent to the buyer’s Funding account, and the order will be completed.

Risk. Do not release cryptocurrency until the money has arrived in your account. Binance advises ignoring offline requests from people who pose as Binance support.

Rules to Know

  • Payment only to the account in the ad. User policy: “Do not make payments to a 3rd party account.” If a buyer or seller has sent the details of a third party, the party who did so bears the losses.
  • Account in your real name. The seller must receive the money into an account in the same name as the Binance account.
  • Release deadline. After confirming receipt of the full payment, the seller must release the cryptocurrency within 15 minutes.
  • Do not click “Transferred” without payment. Premature confirmation may lead to the account being blocked.
  • Do not trade outside the platform. The policy advises never to agree on deals via social networks, messengers or in-person meetings.
  • The price is final. For an order that has already been created, the price is not negotiated.
  • Risk control. If Binance determines that a user is involved in money laundering, the platform may permanently disable some or all functions of the account.

Fees

For hryvnia, a separate rule applies. Under the policy, in the RUB, UAH, KZT, IDR and BDT markets, the seller always receives the full amount, and the buyer is responsible for the payment provider’s fees, for example your bank’s. If an additional fee has been withheld from the amount, the seller must provide confirmation of the transaction.

Whether Binance charges a fee for P2P, and how much, depends on the market and on the role in the deal (who created the ad). Check the current rates on the Binance P2P pages directly before a deal: we do not give figures that we could not confirm on the page for hryvnia.

Risks for Ukrainians

  • Bank. Transfers from many individuals or to their cards may attract the attention of a bank, which is obliged to carry out financial monitoring. What the law and the NBU say about this is explained in the article How to Withdraw Crypto to a Ukrainian Bank Card.
  • “Money mules.” In its Harazd material, the NBU defines a “money mule” as a person who receives money on their account from another person (a criminal), transfers it further, or withdraws cash and hands it to the criminal for a reward. According to the same material, such a person bears criminal liability for complicity in a crime (Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, imprisonment for 3 to 12 years), even if they did not suspect it. Selling your own cryptocurrency is a different situation, but do not pass on money that came in “on an assignment,” and do not give your card to anyone.
  • Fake payment. A screenshot of a transfer is not a confirmation. Check incoming payments in your banking app.
  • Taxes. Under the P2P policy, users are themselves responsible for taxation and for paying taxes in their jurisdiction. The Tax Code of Ukraine (version of 17 September 2026) contains no separate rules on virtual assets, and the law on virtual assets has not come into force.
  • Volatility. The prices of virtual assets can change sharply. The Binance P2P pages state that prices may be volatile and that the exchange is not liable for trading losses.
