Fines recorded by automatic enforcement cameras can be checked and paid online through the official services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVS) and Diia. This article is specifically about such resolutions. If a patrol officer issued the fine, it is paid using the details in the resolution: the law requires the fine to be paid to a bank, and gives fifteen days for payment from the day the resolution is served (Article 307 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses (KUpAP), hereinafter the Code). Data checked on 19 October 2026.
Which Fines You Can Check Online
According to the MVS, the automatic enforcement system currently records speeding and violations of the rules of movement and stopping in the lane for route vehicles. The liable person is the responsible person: the vehicle owner or the authorized user, if their details have been entered in the vehicle register (Article 14-2 of the Code). MVS service centers do not check fines: that is a matter for the patrol police, while information on automatically recorded violations is displayed in Diia.
Where to Check: Official Services
The MVS names several official channels. For a search on the website you must specify two parameters: the license plate and either the series and number of the resolution or the owner’s details (a passport, a driver’s license or a vehicle registration certificate).
| Service | How to find a fine | How to pay |
|---|---|---|
| The bdr.mvs.gov.ua website | License plate and either the series and number of the resolution or the owner’s details. The resolution can also be opened with the QR code on its front side | Directly in the service or with the QR code from the resolution |
| The “Shtrafy PDR” (Traffic Fines) app and the Telegram bot @ShtrafyPDRbot | Add a vehicle: license plate and a document (either the series and number of the resolution or the owner’s details). You can subscribe to notifications about new resolutions | By card in the app or the bot |
| Diia (app and portal) | Log in to your account; fines from automatic enforcement are shown with a photo and video of the violation | By card, Apple Pay or Google Pay |
| Driver’s Cabinet (e-driver.mvs.gov.ua) | Named by the MVS among the checking services; hosted on the website of the MVS Main Service Center | Listed among the payment methods |
In addition, the MVS names payment in online banking or at bank counters using the details from the resolution.
Step by Step
- Open an official service. The “Shtrafy PDR” app is available in the App Store and Google Play; the MVS provides the links on its website.
- Enter the search details: the license plate and either the series and number of the resolution or the owner’s details. In Diia, fines are shown after you log in to your account.
- Open the resolution and check it. See which violation it is, when and where it was recorded and the amount. A photo or video will help you make sure it is your car.
- Pay if you agree. You can pay online from the moment the resolution is issued, without waiting for a letter in the mail.
- Make sure the fine has disappeared from the list. Under the law, an interbank transfer takes up to three days.
- Optionally, subscribe to notifications in the app or the bot to learn about new resolutions.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation (Mintsyfry) described step-by-step navigation in Diia in 2021 as follows: log in, open “Services” and choose “Fines for traffic violations.” The names of sections may change.
How Much to Pay and When
The amount depends on the article of the Code and is stated in the resolution. The MVS gives the following amounts for automatically recorded violations:
| Violation | Fine, UAH |
|---|---|
| Speeding by more than 20 km/h | 340 |
| Speeding by more than 50 km/h | 1,700 |
| Violating the rules of movement and stopping in the lane for route vehicles | 680 |
50% discount. If you pay 50% of the fine before you receive the resolution or within ten days after it enters into legal force, the resolution is considered executed (Article 300-1 of the Code). A resolution enters into force after it is served, and also after receipt of a postal notice of delivery, of refusal to accept, or of the return of the item (Article 291). The MVS writes about ten calendar days from the moment the resolution is received. The date in the postal notice is treated as the date of receipt.
Full amount. The overall payment period is 30 days from the day the resolution enters into legal force (Article 300-1; the MVS says the same).
What happens if you do not pay. If the fine is not paid within 30 days, the resolution is subject to enforced execution. The state enforcement officer recovers double the fine and the costs of recording offenses (Article 308 of the Code). If the resolution is appealed, the deadlines are suspended until the complaint is considered (Article 300-1).
If You Were Not Behind the Wheel
A fine from a camera goes to the owner, even if someone else was driving. That is why the MVS advises anyone who uses a car for a long time to enter their details as the authorized user: this is done through the Diia web portal, the Driver’s Cabinet or the regional MVS service centers. If the resolution has already been issued, there is a way out: within 20 calendar days of the violation or of the day the resolution entered into force, the driver who was operating the car personally applies to a patrol police unit with a statement acknowledging the violation and consenting to liability and provides a receipt for payment of the fine. The statement can also be submitted through the bdr.mvs.gov.ua service if you have electronic identification with a qualified signature.
Attention, drivers with a two-year license. Fines from automatic enforcement are counted against the car’s owner, even if someone else was driving. The first license can be exchanged if there are no more than two offenses in the area of traffic safety, and even a pedestrian’s violation is counted. The MVS advises drivers with a temporary license to appoint an authorized user so that the person behind the wheel is the one held responsible.
If It Does Not Work
- The fine is paid, but it still “hangs.” The MVS advises checking whether the bank made the interbank transfer on time and whether the details used for payment are correct.
- The “Shtrafy PDR” app is empty, but Diia shows a fine. According to the MVS reply, you need to reinstall the app, refresh the subscription in the bot and add the car again. If that does not help, write to technical support.
- You consider the resolution mistaken. A complaint is filed within ten days of the day the resolution enters into legal force, with a higher authority or a local court under the rules of the Code of Administrative Procedure (Article 289 of the Code, MVS explanation).
Pay only in official services. The addresses and apps of the MVS and Diia are listed above. A message about a “fine” with a link to an unknown website is a reason to check the resolution yourself. To learn how to recognize such schemes, read our article on bank card fraud.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I pay a fine before the letter arrives?
Yes. The MVS says online payment is available from the moment the resolution is issued, and there is no need to wait for a letter. If you pay 50% before the resolution is served, it is considered executed (Article 300-1 of the Code).
How long does the 50% discount last?
Until the resolution is received and for ten days after it enters into legal force. The MVS words this as ten calendar days from the moment the resolution is received. The date in the postal notice is the date of receipt.
What happens if I do not pay within 30 days?
The resolution goes to enforced execution. Under the Code, the offender is charged double the fine and the costs of recording offenses (Article 308).
Can I check fines on a car that is not mine?
The MVS writes that the “Shtrafy PDR” app is convenient for drivers who use someone else’s car: the postal notice goes to the owner, while the app lets you subscribe to the car and receive information about resolutions. The search requires the license plate and either the series and number of the resolution or the owner’s details.
How do I appeal a resolution?
A complaint is filed within ten days of the day the resolution enters into legal force: with a higher authority (official) or with a district or city court under the procedure of the Code of Administrative Procedure. While the complaint is being considered, the payment deadlines are suspended.
