A sole proprietor (FOP) can get an extract from the Unified State Register (USR) in Diia in a few minutes: according to the service page, the application takes about 2 minutes, and the document is generated within a minute. The service is paid; the Diia page states UAH 125. Below are the steps, the difference between an extract, a statement and free viewing, and what to do if the system cannot find the FOP. Data checked on 19 October 2026.
Extract, Statement or Free Viewing
The Law on state registration (No. 755-IV, version of 24 April 2026) distinguishes several forms of providing information from the USR:
- An extract is a document that the system generates by a search criterion, with information current as of the date and time of generation (Article 1). Electronic and paper extracts have the same legal force (Article 11).
- A statement is a document generated as a result of a registration action, for example after registering a FOP or changing its details (Article 1).
- Free viewing. USR information is open and publicly available, except for taxpayer registration card numbers and passport data. Through the electronic services portal, free access to the information is provided so that it can be viewed, copied and printed (Article 11). A link to the service is on the service page in Diia.
So if you only need to see what is recorded about a FOP, free viewing is enough. If an agency or a counterparty asks specifically for an extract, order it as a separate document. To open a FOP account, a bank, under the Tax Code, may rely on a statement or on information from the register: see our article how to open a FOP account online.
After Registration or Changes: A Statement, Not an Extract
If you have just registered a FOP or changed its details through Diia, the document confirming this is a statement, and it is part of the result of the service. According to the page of the “Automatic FOP Registration” service, the registration record appears in the USR within 2 business days, and the statement becomes available within 3 business days of registration, after registration with the tax authority and the statistics bodies. You can download it in the “Received documents” section of your account on the Diia portal. The online registration itself is free of charge.
As Diia explains, a statement received online and printed from the account is a full-fledged document, and state bodies must accept it. If it is not accepted, Diia advises contacting the chatbot or the hotline of the Ministry of Justice: +38 (044) 237 09 96.
What You Will Need
- A FOP record in the USR. Diia explains that the information is taken from the register: you can get an extract even if the FOP was registered offline or has already been closed, provided the data is in the USR under your taxpayer ID number (RNOKPP).
- A Diia account. You need to log in or register in the citizen’s account.
- Online payment. By law, the fee for USR information is paid through online payment systems.
- A completed application, if there was one. If you submitted an online application to register, change or close a FOP, wait for it to be processed successfully: then the extract will contain current data.
Step by Step Through Diia
The “Extract from the USR” service is intended for FOPs. The steps are taken from the service page on diia.gov.ua.
- Click “Get an extract” and log in or register in the citizen’s account.
- Check your personal data in the user profile. Update it if necessary.
- Check the information about the FOP. The extract is generated from the data about you that is in the USR.
- Pay for the service and generate the extract if everything is correct.
- Download the result. According to Diia, the extract will be ready within a few minutes after payment, and you can download it in the “Received documents” section of your personal account.
Tip. The status of an application to register, change or close a FOP is visible in the “Services — Ordered services” section. Until the application is processed, the extract may show old data, so wait for its result first.
How Much It Costs and How Long to Wait
| Method | Cost | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Diia (for FOPs only) | UAH 125 | Submitting the application takes about 2 minutes, generation up to a minute |
| Electronic extract under the law | 75% of the fee for a paper extract | In real time |
| Paper extract (Administrative Services Center (CNAP), electronic services account, notary) | 0.05 of the subsistence minimum for able-bodied persons, rounded to UAH 10 | Within 24 hours of the request, excluding weekends and holidays |
The amount of the fee is tied to the subsistence minimum for able-bodied persons, which the law takes as of 1 January of the year in which the request is submitted (Article 36 of Law No. 755-IV). So the amount may change every year, and before paying it is worth checking what the service page says.
If It Does Not Work
- The message “No information on the FOP found.” As Diia explains, the register has no data under the specified taxpayer ID number, or the FOP was registered before the USR was created, that is, before 2004. If you are registered but there is no information in the register, Diia advises contacting a CNAP with an application for state registration of the inclusion of this information; this is mandatory if the registration took place before 1 July 2004.
- The extract has no taxpayer registration card number. It is displayed as “XXXXXXXXXX”: this is provided by law, and an extract ordered at a CNAP looks the same.
- The application has been processing for more than 10 minutes. Check the status in the “Services — Ordered services” section. If the status has not changed in 10 minutes and there is no email, contact Diia support.
- You need a paper extract or an extract for a legal entity. According to the state services guide, they are issued by CNAPs, district administrations, executive bodies of councils, notaries and the electronic services account. Legal entities, according to Diia, order an extract on the USR portal.
An extract is a snapshot of a moment in time. It shows information current as of the date and time it was generated. If the FOP’s data changed after that, order a new extract rather than using the old one.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a USR extract for a FOP cost?
The Diia page states UAH 125 as of 19 October 2026. By law, an electronic extract costs 75% of the fee for a paper one, and that fee depends on the subsistence minimum, so the amount may change over the years.
Does an electronic extract have the same force as a paper one?
Yes. The law directly says that extracts in paper and electronic form have the same legal force (Article 11 of Law No. 755-IV).
Can I get an extract if the FOP has been closed?
Diia writes that you can, provided that information about you is in the USR under the specified taxpayer ID number. If there is no record, the system will report that no information was found.
Can I view information about a FOP for free?
Yes. USR information is open, and the law provides for free access to it through the electronic services portal for viewing, copying and printing. The link is on the “Extract from the USR” service page in Diia. This is not an official extract, but a view of the data.
How long is a USR extract valid?
The official pages we checked do not state a validity period. By law, an extract contains information current as of the date and time of generation or as of the date and time specified in the request (Article 1). Whether a fresh document is needed is decided by the agency that asks for it, so check with it.
Can I get an extract online if the FOP was registered offline?
Yes. All information about FOP registration is stored in the electronic register, so an extract can be obtained online.
